When it rains it pours! April was quite a stressful month for us. Around the first of April, Colby had woke up one morning and was crying that He couldn't walk. His knee hurt really bad. I asked him what happened and He said that yesterday at school, He was playing football and was tackled. He said it was bledding so the aid on recess stuck a bandaid on it. When He lifted up His pant leg, I could see His knee was very swollen, then when I removed the bandaid, I could see that He probably should have had some stitches. So We headed to the ER to have it looked at because He couldn't walk. They told us that it should have had stitches yesterday and that there was nothing they could do now because they would sew in infection. So they cleaned it really well and told me to watch it for redness and more swelling. Then, On April 12 We were just getting ready to go to the school art show and Colby and Cooper came to Me and asked if they could get the kites down off the top shelf in the garage? I told them no because we needed to leave in 20 minutes. As I was getting Carter dressed I heard a loud scream and from the garage. As I ran out there I could see that Colby had tried to climb the shelf to get the kites down and one of my shelves fell and hit Him in the head . There was lots of blood and it scared Me to death. I immediatly ran him to the ER where He had to have a few staples on the side of his head. Well ten days later We had an appointment to have the staples removed. When lo and behold, I get a call from Colby's teacher telling Me that I need to come and pick Him up because He cut His head on the zipline and there was a lot of blood in His hair. She thought He needed to have it looked at. When I picked Him up We went to the hospital and they cleaned up His new cut (which luckily didn't need attention) and took out the staples from the last one! Colby is my accident prone child in case you couldn't tell. Then April 16th I was cleaning up the boys room and changing sheets when I bent down to pickup some clothes and when i came up, hit my head on an open drawer. After a few hours at the hospital, it was determined that I had suffered a severe concussion. I was loonier than normal for several hours later:) thanks to Brian and Lorraine for taking care of Me and the Boys. It was so scary, but unfortunately our April luck didn't end there! April 28th, Carter and Colby were out playing in the sandbox When Colby went to throw some dirt over his shoulder and hit Carter in the forehead with the shovel. Colby came bringing Him to Me. Carter was crying and there was blood all over his face. I was terrified, but I was so glad that Brian was home. He calmed us down and got the bleeding under control so I could take Carter to the ER, where He had to have three stitches in His head. I am not writing this to complain about the trials We have had, because I am thankful that they are just little trials. Plus Brian complains plenty about the $500 we had to pay in ER visits, thank goodness for insurance. But the bottom line is, We can stitch up cuts and mend bruises. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for blessing and protecting us, because it can always be worse! And knock on wood, We haven't been to the hospital at all in May :)

These were the only two pictures I have of the incidents and they were both from Brian's phone. Carter thought He was such a tough big boy after getting His stitches, He is so cute, even with a cut head:)
